This recipe is near and dear to me because I learned it from someone who I consider family. I would always enjoy eating this salsa at our family get togethers, and the taste became engraved in my memories. I loved it so much that I finally asked for the recipe instead of waiting for the next get together. I added a twist: I use roasted instead of raw vegetables to bring out the flavor much more for a unique, delicious salsa recipe that is perfect for that family party. I love how food brings family and friends together, lives on for generations, and continues to bring us together long after it was created. This is a simple recipe chock full of memories of family gatherings and love.
Ingredients:
2 to 3 cloves of garlic
4 Roma tomatoes quartered
1 to 2 serrano peppers depending on your heat tolerance (I used 4 because I like mine really spicy)
1 medium white onion quartered
1/3 bunch of cilantro
1 to 2 teaspoons of salt
Juice of 1 or 2 limes
Directions
Step 1: Roast your garlic, tomatoes, peppers, and onion.
Step 2: In a food processor add your cilantro and serrano peppers and blend.
Step 3: Once the peppers and cilantro are well blended add your garlic and onion and blend.
Step 4: Add your remaining ingredients and blend until everything is well incorporated.
Step 5: Enjoy immediately or place in a mason jar or container and store it in the fridge until you are ready to eat it.
